Chicken Soup #34

This weeks Chicken Soup is up & here's my interpretation.

I created another wall hanging, this time with soft pastels & flowers, not normally my style (especially pink!!!) but I wanted to play with the Tilda Cut-Outs that Jane chose at the Trade Show this year. We have some kits including co-ordinating papers made up in the shop. Have a peek next time you're in :)

Let's Stamp Workshop

I WILL catch up on Blogging photos taken this month, honest I will!

These photos were taken when Jane hosted our Let's Stamp Workshop at the beginning of this month. The girls used random pieces of patterned paper & stamped away creating a resist which was swiped over with co-ordinating paints. The results were Amazing I'm sure you'll agree! What better way to revive an old paper you may have fallen out of love with :)

In next Months Let's Stamp Workshop, we will be stamping with Tatty Button & colour blending with Promarkers! For more details & to book click here :)

Pretty Spools!

I've been meaning to Blog these for a week or two now, please excuse my blog tardiness! Aren't we seeing Spools everywhere at the moment!? You'd think it might spur my sewing machine into action but sadly not, yet!

So anyway these cuties (even if I do say so myself!) were created by Jane & myself were inspired by two sources :)
Firstly, the wrapping of paper, lace & ribbon from an article in the Winter Issue of Somerset Life. This publication is packed with homely inspiration & wonderful photography!
Secondly, we saw spools with clips on the Alterations table on the Sizzix stand at this years Trade Show.
Et Voila (apologies, I've been watching Raymond!), a perfect base to show off a tag, ATC or random piece of artwork :)

Speaking of Random Art, these 2 pieces were created simply by using KaiserCrafts English Rose paper, Cuttlebugs Script Embossing Folder, Victorian Velvet & Crushed Olive Distress Inks, Sizzix Alterations Regal Crest Bigz Die.

The Large Spools were swiped with Antique Linen Distress Stain & the Clips coloured with Alcohol Inks!

Chicken Soup #33

This weeks Chicken Soup Recipe had oodles of scope, go and check it out here & join in!
Here is my take on this week :)

It's a kind of Mothers Day card only it's not a card, I may turn it into a wall hanging for Mum's Sewing Room (my old bedroom!)
Since the Sizzix Sewing Room Die & Vagabond arrived this week, we haven't been able to put it away on the shelf yet!!!

This is how I made it...
- Adhere a page of notebook paper to Grafix Chipboard for the background
- Blend Dusty Concord ink around the edges
- Stamp linen texture with Dusty Concord over the blending
- Adhere more notebook paper to more chipboard
- Die cut Spools & Dress form with Tims Bigz Die
- Blend Barn Door, China Blue, Crushed Oliver & Wild Honey on pieces
- Stamp linen texture with more Distress ink
- Stain Seam Binding with Distress Inks &/or Distress Stains
- Scrunch it up and dry with Heat Tool
- Wrap around Spools & Form, fixing with pins
- Attach a wee label with your handwritten message
- Mount onto background with foam pads
- In the top left corner stamp ruler
- Mask with a piece of card die cut with the Iron Gate On the Edge Die
- Dab with inks and mists
- Highlight edges with Journalling pen
- Add a button!

Have a Great Weekend Everyone!

Phew!

Yet more Yummy Stash arrived over the last couple of days! Never did we imagine we'd get so excited over the Vagabond, but Jane was literally squealing with delight as they arrived! Where was I? On the Blimmin' phone, trying desperately to remain professional ;) Even the outer box is to die for, I can't bring myself to throw it away, figuring we may be able to transform it into something divine. So, if you're local, come in and have a play!

Our first allocation of our Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Stains also arrived

along with some of the new 7 Gypsies, Ranger Confections Perfect Pearls Kits and more new Idea-ology, restocks of Glue n Seal, the gorgeous Jenni Bowlin Bunting Stamps and not forgetting the Lush Sewing Room Sizzix Alterations Bigz Die.
You can see everything here!

Also, incredibly late uploading (I did however complete this on time - honest!!)
This one's for you Mireille ;)

Chicken Soup #32

A wee card inspired by the Beautiful Photo
over on the Chicken Soup Blog.
Hop on over & join in!

I used Tims Paper & Bazzill Kraft for the backgrounds.
The pretty rose Paper is by Kaisercraft
(I used the flip side of this paper)
The bird is from Tilda packaging!
Gotta love using packaging!
Birdhouse paper from 7 Gypsies Lille
I hand drew the birdhouses, cut them out
then added a few sticky pearls
I swiped a Ranger Paint Dabber (shell pink)
over a Philosophy Tag, pulled some lace (hand dyed with
Victorian Velvet Distress Ink) through and
mounted with foam pads. Lastly I doodled around the
edges with a Marvy Journalling pen :)

Have a Great Weekend!

Challenged?!

Ok, I am so going to create a Scrapbook page
this week. There, I've made it public knowledge,
so if you visit again in one week and
there's nothing here feel free to mock me!
It's been too long since the last.
Not to say I haven't been crafty but just nothing
for my albums and my photos are bursting to be
set free from my hard drive.

To make it even more challenging, I'm
going to use this photo taken at Kierans'
9th Birthday Party back in November.
It was taken with an iPod, omg just look
at that exposure :o Yikes!

Finally, if you fancy joining me in scrapping
a poorly exposed photo, throw a link into
the comment box & I'll send one of you a
wee something off our New Products page :)
