Hi All!
Just thought I'd share with you the methods I used to create the canvas featured in Februarys issue of Craft Stamper :)
I love playing with multiple layers on a canvas, it creates an interesting depth. The best part is if you don't like a layer, you can wipe it off & start again!
Method:
Most of the following requires drying time between each step, you can use a heat gun or let it dry naturally.
Apply a layer of Jo Sonja's Napthol Crimson paint to the canvas and dry.
Adhere pieces of torn book paper with Glue n Seal.
Using a scrap of sequin waste as a mask, randomly apply Brilliant Magenta paint in patches.
Using the same paint stamp a heart onto scrap paper then stamp over with Archival Black Ink & the Calligraphic stamp.
Spread an even layer of Jo Sonja's Aqua paint on a craft mat, stamp the hearts & quote with the From The Heart set using the paint as an ink pad. With leftover paint dab around the edges of the canvas.
Add a shadow highlight to the quote by writing with a Versamark pen then heat emboss with black powder.
Stamp the edges with Archival Black ink & the Fabulous Flourishes stamp set.
Stamp & heat emboss numbers from the Stuff to Say set.
And don't forget the outside edges!
Finally adhere pink heart & attach a button if you wish!
I gave my canvas a final swipe over with some left over Brilliant Magenta paint, to soften it slightly.
Have fun & get messy (it's half the fun!)
Stamps used: Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz From The Heart CMS006, Fabulous Flourishes CMS070 & Stuff To Say CMS110; The Artistic Stamper Calligraphic Mat 12.
