Christmas Configured!

Yesterday we hosted a Christmas Configurations workshop taught by Julie.
6 of us had great fun & "just" managed to finish in 6 hours!
Here is mine, I added the feet this morning, I'm delighted (thanks Julie!)

Thanks also to Ann, Carol, Christine & Jennie who came to play!

Onto this morning, Kieran had to join me today & was gutted he missed out on creating yesterday. "Make one then!" I said and off he went. Choosing papers, embellishments etc.
Within hours he had completed this, with only a little help from me with the tissue tape binding. Not bad for a 10 year old eh?
Both are now proudly displayed on our windowsill at home :)

The walnut is a Christmas Dec made by his Grandma - perfect!

Thanks for dropping by!

"Proper Cards"!!!

We have some fabulous talented ladies who teach & shop here at Pickleberry!
Let me share their cards, then my feeble attempt at what we called "proper cards"
We had some great light-hearted banter last night, inserts or not?!
I so struggle with layering, matting, precision much to Jean & Heathers' amusement!

So first to one of Barbara's cards which she taught here last week with Artemio Baubles Stamps

And my version from last night....
I didn't have the lush Tim Pine stamp Barbara used so substituted with one of Jennie's from the Botanical 2 set, the greeting from MME Lost & Found Christmas Set

Jean made us a Wonderful Card, isn't it gorgeous!
Thank you & for the use of some your pearlesent card ;)

Here's a Stunning one from Heather who used an amazing Dreamweaver stencil,
thanks Heth!

Here's another we received from a lovely customer Anne, thanks Anne it's amazing, I love the embossing! (lol, can you see me in the reflection?!)

So now to one of mine which I had to resist the urge to distress & use copious amounts of foam pads (needs to be flat for posting!)
Thanks to Jennie for the loan (again) of the Sizzix Ornaments die ;)
I double die cut with this Movers & Shapers die set
Ok I lied, there's a teeny bit of Dusty Concord on the hanger thingy!

& now for the grungy distressed card - easy!
Again using the branch from Botanical 2 :)

Thanks again to everyone for sharing, I'm off now to make some more!
Have a great weekend :)

Yesterday I hosted a Promarker Coffee Morning, we had good fun & I even managed to complete a card using Tims Alterations Lamp Post die with 2 shades of grey & a yellow Promarker, distress inks, Woodwares Christmas Carol Background Words stamp, Claudines stamp and a simple circle punch as a mask:)
Oh a some Stickles Holly Berries!

Thanks for dropping by!

Christmas Wrapped Up!

This year I decided to wrap our presents differently.
I loathe that cheap wrapping paper that tears as soon as you go near it with tape & I didn't fancy spending a fortune on the quality paper when it just gets launched in the recycling.
So I'm delighted that this year I haven't spent a penny, it's amazing what you find you already have to hand when you look isn't it!

The brown wrapping paper I've had for years! Yay, saving number one! To decorate I used strips of Music manuscript given to me by a friend (thanks Barbara!) Then the tissue paper & ribbons on top were salvaged from old gifts, chocolate boxes, cracker decs, bag handles etc. (Yep I'm a hoarder!)

The tags I made at work last week, simple stamping & die cutting.

I love the effect though and don't be surprised if I snag the ribbons back after the recipient has opened their gifts on the day!

Have you made any tags this year? I'd love to see them ;)

Tims Tags 11 & 12!

Alas, today was the last day of Tims 12 Tags of Christmas for 2011.
Sigh.....
I've so enjoyed creating, trying new techniques & products, tomorrow it will be back to work as normal (well as normal as I can possibly be!)
Here's my version of Tag 11
I used this cool set of Christmas stamps by Teresa Collins and had lots of fun with the shrink & melt pot!

Finally Tag 12, love love love it!

The Tissue Wrap is divine & you maybe pleased to know we are selling it by the metre so you can try it before splashing out on a full roll!
The bottom of the tag is waiting for just the right kind of tinsel, so will have to root around at home to see if I can snag some :)

Tomorrow I will share with you my handmade Christmas Wrapping :)

Ho Ho Ho!

Excitement is building here at Pickleberry!
Julie is busy prepping her Christmas Configurations Workshop & I've made a few tree decs :)
Are you joining Tim with his 12 tags of Christmas? We are, and we're hosting a crop this Friday night to have a go, we're also going to use the time to make cards too! Join us if you can (you can book here or call us in the shop)

The Music manuscript bauble was an idea I saw on Pinterest, really easy too (I like that!) Snag some old or cheap baubles, tear up some old music or book paper, adhere to the bauble with Glue n Seal, allow to dry then either spray with mica or smear with Stickles!
The birdhouse was just crying out to be decorated. I used a sheet of Graphic 45 paper which was trimmed to fit, Filled in the gaps with a Black Promarker, Scrappy Glued the edges and dunked into glitter, then stamped greeting onto scrap card & punched out. See, told you it was easy!

Want to make some of your own decs? Join Jennie this Saturday & get inky!

This morning Barbara taught a fabulous concertina folded mini book, lovely!
