Time to Breathe

Well almost!
The shop is just about packed up and ready to ship out.
Our house selling/buying process is in motion.
And the Sun is gonna Shine this Week!!!

Woo hoo! What to do to make the most of it, hmmmmm?!
Beach has to be on the list and hopefully the Lido in Faversham, let's see!

Brighton was the order of the day on Saturday just gone, I've had an inkling to visit for a while now so we just went ahead and did it before we changed our minds or let life get in the way again(you know how it goes!)

View from the pier (photo taken on iphone4 & meddled with in Snapseed)

No trip to Brighton is complete without a trip to the Famous Choccywoccydoodah!
A teeny shop choc full of sweet oh my good godness.
Collage by PicFrame App

and my final pic to share is another Collage (loving this new (to me) app!) featuring lunch in Nandos and a pic of the most amazing wallpaper I've ever seen (I don't do wallpaper) Paper designer Andrew Martin available from www.thepapillonshop.com

Have a Happy Week ;)

On a Roll!

Yesterday Jane spent the day guiding the lovely Hilary, Marion & Karel through a Junk Journal with the gorgeous new Prima Doodle Deux Collection. I fear I maybe banging on a little about this line, sorry but I just love, love. love it lol!

In between helping customers, a few new nice ladies too (Hi!) I managed another card and a quick play with a new product.

New product first...
These are Canvas Resist Shapes from Prima, the particular set we have in stock is called "Koolio" & co-ordinates with (yes you guessed it!) Doodle Deux. A quick swipe with Rusty Hinge & Wild Honey Distress Stains & voila, the resist pops! Fabulous textural accents - yum!

Onto my card, virtually all the product used is Prima & Pink Paislee - not intentional, but it all seemed to fit even though they are from different ranges!
Firstly the card base and butterfly stamp is from Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee, the Scripty layer from the Prima BIG Script pad (loving this!) The ruler hemp was a piece left over from yesterdays card. The tickets and bird branch stamps are from this set of Prima Songbird Cling. Finally the row of pearls are here and the crochet lace here :)

Thanks for dropping by, have a Sunny Day!

One for the Weekend!

Today I had time to make a card - Yay!
Mmmm the pinks don't look like they co-ordinate in the photo, but they look ok IRL :)

I used a 5" x 7" Jenni Bowlin Bingo card which you can find in the Clearance section (only 50p each!)
I love them and they're a perfect for the front of a card.

First I inked the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, punched a scallop circle out of some Prima Script paper and inked the edges of that too.
The pink organza was concertinererered (how do you spell that??!!) onto a strip of DS tape on the scalloped circle, then mounted on the bingo card with foam pads.
The antique key charm was also attached with foam pads & finished off with a thin strip of hemp which had also been given some frayed burlap treatment.
Finally hemp was stamped with these gorgeous Doodle Deux stamps by Prima using Archival Coffee Ink, then cut in half along the length and adhered with DS tape - lovely!

Thanks for dropping by
Have a Gorgeous Weekend everyone, may the sun shine pleeeease!

The Finished Page

So, the other day I mentioned I have started to crochet and I found instructions on how to create a cute edging for pillowcases and the like on Pinterest.

The link took me to this lovely blog which has full instructions. Wonders never cease, I had a lightbulb moment & wondered if I could apply this to card, yes! It works, I'm delighted!!!
The result a simple page using Pink Pailsee Spring Jubilee Papers, a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch & a few dots of Liquid Pearls with crochet trim :)

Please excuse the plain ol' boring background and header of the blog, I'm afraid the fabulous Shabby Blog folks are having a few malware probs, so I've deleted them just to be safe. Hope they get sorted soon :)

Swoon!

Yet again we've had a multitude of new goodies here at Pickleberry! So good to see bright and cheerfulness in amongst this wet weather we're enduring!
As usual all new goodies are grouped together on the New Products pages and here are a few scrapbook pages created by myself & Jane over the last week or two with some of the new stash :)

Firstly Janes, this double layout uses the Pink Pailsee London Market range and was created for the last Scrapbook Design class. You can book up for the next one on the 22nd May here :)
Isn't it gorgeous!

We're loving the chipboard buttons that have a resist on them (great fun to use with the Distress Stains!)

Here's another whipped up in no time by Jane using the new Doodle Deux range by Prima :)
Lovely and Summery!

So, here's my layout based on Janes workshop using the oh so colourful Pink Paislee Spring Fling collection! A riot of colour, maybe too much, but hey who cares, it was fun!

I have another simpler single page LO using the same papers on the go, it's not finished yet but I wanted to share a peek. I've made my own crochet trim - way hay! (my mother will be shocked!!!)

Lastly for today I wanted to share the window frame we have in the shop!
It was a fleabay find, painted up and attached to the wall by Mal, then expertly decorated by Julie, isn't it fun!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!

Wednesday 18 April 2012

Ooops!

Oh dear! My blogging capability has slipped somewhat, sorry :(

Been busy with the shop and was also lucky enough to take an Easter break with amazing friends in Ireland!
It was great to pop back for a while and enjoy the craic! And the shopping of course!!!
No trip to Ireland is complete without a trip to Avoca for a good mooch, a little lunch and a modest spend (I was very good, I think my husband thought I was ill!)

The naughty cake counter (look at the size of the Rice Cripsie cake!)
and scrumptious squiddly starter!

I'm also having great fun with the amazing Snapseed app on my iphone, it does what would take me forever to do with Photoshop. Check out these 2 before & after photos.

Before

After a few clicks
Woah! - Drama and Light!
The photo btw is of an old train used in the peat bogs ;)

Anyhoo, enough of my ramblings and onto all things crafty!

We've had a steady stream of new goodies over the last month or two from The Artistic Stamper, My Minds Eye and Prima to the Fabulousness of Tim Holtz with more to come from 7 Gypsies, Crafters Workshop Stencils, Prima Doodle Deux and EK Success including the Brilliant French General line.
All of the latest new products are here & take a peek at what's coming soon here :)
French General isn't expected until June, so those will go online over the next week or so.

I finally got around to collating some of the paper ranges into collection packs so if you buy all 7 or 8 sheets that we have from the following  ranges you get to snag a discount of around 5%.
Current participating Brands are MME Be Amazing and Be Happy & Prima's Natures Garden, En Francais & Sun Kiss :)

Finally for today I'm sharing this photo I posted on our facebook page a few weeks ago when one of our customers (thanks Sandra!) discovered that the Darice Cigar Boxes are a perfect fit for a full set of Distress Markers :)

Happy Crafting Everyone!

Inspired by....

Jane hosted an evening crop on Tuesday & had this gorgeous piece knocked up in a few hours (as you do!) She was inspired by an article featured in the latest issue of Somerset Apprentice. Isn't it gorgeous?

Also in this week is the latest Take Ten mag too!
This issue is packed with fabulous cards that you can create in around 10 minutes, genius!

There's a couple of spaces left for this Saturday Mornings Mini Ranger Canvas Workshop with Jennie. Inspired by the workshop we attended on Saturday hosted by Tim Holtz :)
You'll get to play with the new Distress Markers too!

Thanks for stopping by, See you soon ;)

Masked & Inked Tags

Today I had a play with some Gorgeous Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings paper, K and Co Grand Adhesions (currently 25% off!) and a Crafters Workshop mask designed by Julie Fei Fan Balzer - Punchinella. Mix in some Tim Holtz stamps, distress inks et voila!

On the tag above I swiped a little gesso, through the mask, heat dried it then went over with a little Crushed Olive distress ink to add a little texture.

A more subtle look with Bundled Sage

This last one with Vintage Photo.

Don't stop at gesso and distress inks, masks work great with chalk inks, paints, texture pastes, sprays. The list is endless!

Thanks for dropping by, have a great weekend :)
